CRMA
CRMA is a diagnostic procedure that uses digital X-rays to measure and analyze the structural alignment and stability of the spine. It is primarily used in chiropractic and orthopedic medicine to assess spinal injuries, such as those caused by trauma or degenerative conditions.
Purpose
To identify and quantify spinal misalignments and instabilities
To assess the extent of ligament damage
To monitor treatment progress and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
Procedure
The patient stands while motion X-rays are taken from different angles.
The X-ray images are then digitized and processed using specialized software.
The software calculates measurements such as vertebral angles, disc heights, and ligament laxity.
Benefits
Provides objective and quantitative data on spinal alignment
Helps to diagnose and classify spinal injuries
Guides treatment planning and monitoring
Can be used to document injuries for legal or insurance purposes
